Punjab Emergency Service - Rescue 1122:-

Rescue 1122 is an emergency service functional in Punjab province which is accessed by public by dialing 1122 from any phone. Punjab Emergency Service, Rescue 1122 was started under the 2006 Punjab Emergency Service Act to serve the public for conducting arrangements in case of emergencies such as fire, accidents.
After the success of Lahore Pilot Project started in 2004, PES service is functional in all districts of Punjab having a population of 80000000 that makes it biggest province in terms of population in Pakistan. Rescue 1122 incorporates with Emergency Ambulance, Fire and Rescue service and Community Safety program.
The District Emergency Officer is controls the activities regarding managing the daily based operation and administration of rescue service in the districts working closely with the District Administration. The office of the Director General is primarily responsible for the all supervision to ascertain consistency and quality, training, planning, research and development through the Provincial Monitoring Cell. The administration is working to enhance its services. In March 2013, Rawalpindi Emergency Rescue Service received 14 fully equipped new ambulances.
