LAHORE: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chairman Imran Khan will be among many politicians to be invited to the meeting on the date of independence from the government in D-Chowk in Islamabad on August 14, Information Minister announced, Saturday the 12th July, 2014.

It is important to mention here that the PTI is also planning to conduct a "tsunami march' against alleged fraud in the general elections of May 11, 2013 at the same place on the same day.

Information Minister said that organizing a rally, in which the prime minister, ministers, civil society and the national anthem together at D-Chowk has been a tradition of the Pakistan Muslim League - Nawaz (PML-N).

When PML-N came to power last year, the government took the decision to start this tradition once again, to be implemented, Rasheed said.
"This was a proud and beautiful occasion we use to keep our most important national holiday," he added.
The only flag lifted on August 14 was Pakistan flag - as this day is for Pakistanis not for a particular political party, Rasheed said.

Criticizing both political threats to PML-N, the Information Minister said Pakistan Awami Tehreek both (PAT) Tahirul Qadri chief and chief PTI are "experts somersaults," adding that the PML-N government has seen the two sides of the two political leaders.
'Government will support Army'
Talking about government support for the army to eliminate terrorism in the country, Rasheed said the government will provide all the tools necessary for the army, adding that the government's responsibility to do so.
"Providing a legal umbrella for the army is also the responsibility of the government," he added.
Information Minister also said that people looking bugs on this or take a different meaning to this do not want the army to be a success.
"They do not want the mission to Pakistan to succeed," he stated.
He also mentioned that those who were arising negative feelings against Pakistan army will not achieve their objectives.

With Reference to Musharraf Deal

Referring to the press conference of former Prime Minister Yusuf Raza Gilani yesterday, Rasheed said that Gilani said Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif was taken on board in relation to the agreement reached between establishment, the government of PPP and PML-N to give a "safe passage" to Musharraf.

He said PPP conveyed to PML-N to give compensation to former president Pervez Musharraf, but for the first time in Pakistan's history, parliament refused to give compensation to a former dictator, adding that the PML-N was the only responsible for this.

On July 11, Former PM Gilani said that PML-N must comply with the deal instead of taking action against him.
