ISLAMABAD: Legend batsman Javed Miandad has insisted that Pakistan Super League (PSL) should be held in the home country, as it can pull back a lot of foreign cricketers in Pakistan once its tied up.

The former batsman was commenting on a statement issued by PCB's chairman Najam Sethi initial preparation has been completed for the Super League and it will be started in January, 2015 in UAE, he said:
The PSL should be played in Pakistan as it is our own league. To stage it in the UAE will not end the country’s drought of international cricket. At least the PCB should take the initiative and see how it goes in Pakistan. I am sure once the league starts it will attract a lot of foreign players, retired or domestic.
Javed Miandad who had performed the duties of Director General of Pakistan Cricket board carried on by saying:
We can put our domestic players together with the national team players in the PSL which will boost the [domestic] players’ morale and self-belief to tackle opponents of higher standard.“Our national team players are by no means no lesser than other [international team] players and they can help boost the domestic players’ confidence.
Responding on PCB looking forward to generate huge income from six pak-india during 2015-2023 for which both Cricket Boards have signed the agreement, the legend said it would be very beneficial for Pakistan Cricket if such events are organized.
But at the same time, he told the press:
But it’s not the money that people want to see, it’s cricket between Pakistan and India which is the dire need of the hour.
He also suggested that a committee which had been working in the period of former PCB chairman consisting on experienced and popular cricket players should be reinstated. He further claimed that he can streamline Pakistan Cricket in half year.
I headed that committee and it proved very beneficial.
He also told the media that he had given suggestions to Chairman PCB, Najam Sethi on how to bring Cricket back on track in the country.
